Never thought this day would come

My daughter yelled from her room, "I hate you". The thing is I really never expected this day would ever come. I even had to ask her if she was really directing that at me? She confirmed she was. So there you go. I really believe she is the only person in my life who has ever told me they hated me and meant it. I suppose my brother Tom told me he hated me a lot when we were kids and I know he probably meant it at the time too but we were sibilings so I think that gets a pass. Plus he passed so that is an automatic pass.

Now for the kicker, she told me she hated me because I planned brunch and a movie for her 16th birthday. Yup, I made plans for her birthday and I'm hated. ok, I'm ready to be done adulting now.
